Generation
Generation are a four piece band from a small town in Liverpool called Maghull where there isn't much to do but walk your dog or have a pint in the local. Greats such as Marvin Gaye, Parliament and James Brown which were introduced to them by their dad really rubbed off on them after being played non stop in the car.
At the ages of 17 and 18 band members James and Dean came across a band called The Stooges when their debut album changed their lives and was the memorable soundtrack to their late teen years. From then on they found themselves writing songs in their conservatory nearly everyday. These songs in their words were 'about people, nights out and saying “fuck you” to the laws laid down by society'. The two formed a band when they met the perfect drummer for them; Nathan Sanderson. To top the band off Their bassist Joe Murdoch joined after a while of just being the Drum Technician.
'We love anything that makes you feel anxious - you know that feeling you get when your walking with your headphones in and you get a fright when someone behind you taps you on the shoulder - that’s how music should make you feel. It should question the unquestionable and lift you to another place. We think it’s really important to not restrict yourself to one musical genre - get out there and see what you like and what you don’t like.'
The first gig the band played being Generation was supporting Slaves which is pretty well done by if you ask me. Since this they have played with the like of Idles and have toured up and down the UK. Generation released their EP Who Loved This Generation? last year and have been spreading the word written in between the lines of their songs as gospel ever since.
